The 2014 Sewer Replacement Project is the consolidation of two separate sewer projects that are in close proximity to one another. The two sewer mains that are to be replaced include the following locations:
1) Alley Located North of 7th Ave NW from 4th St NW to 2nd St NW.
2) Alley Located Between 7th Ave NW and 6th Ave NW from 4th St NW to 2nd St NW. A new sewer main will be extended south along 3rd St NW from this replaced portion of main to 6th Ave NW.
Each section of sewer replacement consists of approximately 1,620 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer main replacement and the re-establishment of side sewer connections. The existing sewer mains are currently located in 10' gravel alley ways. As a bid alternate, the City of Puyallup included the improvement of the gravel alley surface to a porous HMA surface.
Work also includes minor ADA upgrades at the intersection of 3rd St NW and 6th Ave NW.
This project began design in early April 2017 and completed design at the end of April 2019. Public Bids were opened on May 2nd, 2019. Sound Pacific Construction, LLC was the apparent low bidder with a total bid value of $897,965.43 for completion of this project. City Council awarded a Public Works Construction Contract at the June 4th, 2019 Regular Council Meeting.
Construction is expected to begin in mid-July and be completed by the end of October.
